The idea is to get as much value as possible from my lethal cards by forcing my opponent to make unfavorable trades, especially early, but also throughout the match. Enchanted Plate, Bruma Armorer, and Lucien being crucial to this.
I use Shadow shift instead of the more commonly seen thieves guild recruit to fake out opponents with a cheap lethal and take out something unexpected.
Shadow Shift > enchanted plate on a draugr or FGR can create a lot of havoc on the board early while giving you more cards at the same time.
The same thing applies to the Viper. On it’s own it’s just a decent removal.. but with a few extra hp you can take out multiple enemies. Anytime a lethal survives a killing blow it gains more value.
Hist Grove is there just because it seems pretty overpowered right now and like Tree Minder and Histmage having more magicka helps create more lethal combos sooner or get a heavy legendary out.
Werebat seems like a staple in any Agility deck, it’s also a huge removal target yet I don’t mind it if it gets removed as health drain isn’t so important to me in this deck. Restless Templar tend to be a more guaranteed health boost and they synergize well with the Grim Champion.
The Grim Champion really is the Champion of this deck. Once it gets going, there is unavoidable trading going on and he frequently gets out of hand, sometimes too fast so be careful not to break too many runes with him!
Legendary Picks
Lucien – I would rate Lucien as the only must have legendary in the deck. He just synergizes perfectly with your lethals and grim champions to get them buffing out of control. Cheap, effective, and with an HP buff or two he can be a real SOB by himself.
Ungolim – Goes without saying I think at this point. Great card to have in any agi deck if you have it.
Tazkad – Same thing. If you play agi decks you’d be crazy not to bring this card with you.
Blood Magic Lord – You get one for free so why not. It’s removal bait, but it could also save your ass. If I had a second I’d probably work him into this deck. Preferred to hold till 11 magicka so you can play his buff to protect him when possible.
Night Talon Lord – I just got this from a 7 streak in the arena and it’s the perfect addition to make this deck a little meaner in the legendary ladder. Can be played at 9 mana instead of the more preferred 11 magicka to play BML. Can swing a board for sure.
Red Bramman – Probably not necessary, but also another card that can really swing a board around. More reliable in a pinch to buy you another turn or clear some guards since it’s effects activate from your hand, but less potential than BML.
Iron Atronach – Could easily not be in the deck. I put one in cause I have it and it’s a nice way to close a match. It does see more use because of the magicka generation in this deck however. (Removed)
Odaviing – Great card to swing a board late game. If you have it, it should be in this deck.
Possible changes/replacements
Thieves Guild Hideout would synergize well with this deck to get more value out of lethals, but I haven’t tried it yet.
I think Restless Templar, Moonlight Werebat, Archeins, and Frostbite spiders are all candidates for replacements or quantity adjustments. I’m also torn on tree minders. While getting as much magicka as fast as possible is very helpful, I think it might be a bit overkill in this deck and tree minder is a pretty crap card otherwise.
Night Shadow and Leaflurker possible additions/replacements. Thieves Guild Recruit, obviously a strong pick as well, but personally the amount of magicka generation in this deck doesn’t make him as valuable. I prefer the tactical ability shadow shift provides.
