Fairly straight forward.

Know your opponent. Save Murkwater Witch to take out things like Breton Summoner, or trigger Leaflurker.

When Mummify comes off of a prophecy, you more than likely won’t want to play it. Drag it to your hand.

Drop Draugr turn one into the field lane if your opponent isn’t running red/green or any yellow. Profit. Use Draugr and Fighter’s Guild Recruit to try and box your opponent into one lane for easier abuse via Charus Reaper, Red Bramman, and Blood Magic Lord.

Mulligan everything that costs more than 3, unless you know your opponent isn’t running execute/arrow storm but will have things to kill with Archein Venomtongue, then you could go for that, although I wouldn’t if I didn’t have the magicka potion.

Given the choice between Thieves Guild Recruit and any other two drop, lay down Thieves Guild Recruit, except in the rare situation where you have a Wind Keep Spellsword in hand and your opponent has something delicious to attack and you’re not worried about execute or a toughness boosting effect.

Try not to drop Blood Magic Lord until you’re at 11 Magicka, so you can use his cards to protect him (the gargoyle and the shackle).

At various times I’ve used this to get rank 1 legend for the past couple of months. Enjoy.

8/23/16 UPDATE – Hist Speaker out, Moonlight Werebat in! With this change, we’re playing to our strong midgame with a card that helps us claw back against Jarl/Marshal/Saints after an early rush. We’re also adding a powerful prophecy card to our deck which will swing close matches in our favor.

8/23/16 UPDATE – Hist Speaker returns, Deadly Draugr out. We also welcome Odahviing to the party!

Mid-Range? This is a Ramp deck.

Also, what’s the significance of saving Blood Magic Lord until 11 Magicka?

I don’t think there is a ramp option in deck builder.

No, but this deck its a control deck more than MidRange i think. idk, its doesnt matter

Anyway, the deck seems great. I would try it when i get some legendaries that i actually miss atm

There’s a fantastic chance Blood Magic Lord will die before you get to attack with him to get another spell. At 11 magicka you’ll have the ability to play his spell after you play him, and a couple of those spells increase your ability to keep him alive.

Added a video of the deck in action, made by my opponent in a recent tournament.

I’m playing this deck for few days. Have to say it is great! And yeah, really good point with Blood Magic Lord. Much better to drop him when you have 11 mana.

What are the blood magic spells? I can’t find what they are anywhere.

Gargoyle – Guard 5/5, Shackle all enemy creatures in one lane, Drain 5hp from opponent, Revieve two random creatures from discard piles ( one creature from each pile) – All costs 2 mana, don’t know if there are more spells.

Thanks!

The deck that beat me in the finals deserves at least a +1 from me :D

Added a podcast where I’m the guest and asked about the deck, the tournament, and some other topics – it’s well worth a listen. The final match of the tournament should be available on youtube in the next day or so, and I’ll add that video then.

Those are definitely quality substitutions. A lot of players have had success with Lucien, given how many lethal creatures this deck runs. Night Talon Lord has a much different impact on the board than BML, but I think it’s a got some matchups where it’s actually better.

The tournament is going to reair tomorrow afternoon on the tesl champions twitch stream!

Added the video of the games, I highly recommend – I made some mistakes, but it’s a great series of games.
