I know you can`t use one game as a general example, but I`m gonna do it anyway. Im currently rank 1 (non-legandary) and just fough a legandary-77 archer with my scout ramp. I had a bad starting hand with shitty draws and couldnt play a card until magicka 4. Archer therefore got the early boardcontrol and life total. He ended up getting to use two “Soulrest Marshal”. I ended up with 6hp, but still won the match.
Did i get lucky at the later parts of the game? Maybe, it`s hard to tell. My point here though, is that if Archer was OP, i should not even be able to have a close match after the start he got.
Now, i don`t know how long you have been playing archer yourselves, but keep doing it. The best way to play against a deck is to understand it. And the best way to understand a deck is by playing it. On a sidenote, if you aren`t having fun playing anything besides archer, then play archer!

Thieves Guild Recruits can be a cheap Card Draw and a weak Creature on Board. Better a weak Creature and draw a Card as no Creature on Board when the DrawLuck let u alone
