Only downside is that he’s unique. A very good card at shutting down ramp/combo decks as well as limiting your opponent’s options. Might hurt you though if you don’t have an established board.

One of my favorite cards in the whole game. He’s one of the very few instant equip with Lute cards. Garnag has saved me more times than I can count, and has likely caused ramp and control users to smash their computers in rage. The beauty of his design, is even if you manage to Silence him, kill him or even Banish him, you still only have a max of 7 Magicka that turn lol. So sorry, there will be no Dawn’s Wrath for you, no Red Year, no Sotha Sil, no Ancano, no Unstoppable Rage, no Miraak Dragonborn, no Red Bramman, no Iron Atronach, and best of all NO stupid Odahviing.
