Warrior deck
Control

Today i want to show you my Doomcrag Control Warrior with which I’m having great success in high legend ranked play! I spent around 2 days playing and tweaking this deck, using all kind of different stuff and I think I finally found the perfect setup.
The deck itself is pretty self explanatory, you use the Doomcrags in conjunction with Sharpshooters and Firebrands to ping high value threats of your opponent and the Dagger Whirling Duelist combo to clear lanes, You can also use the Skaven Doomcrag combo to emergency clear a lane if you don’t have Dagger Duelist in hand, but keep in mind that everything on your side, except the Skaven, will die!
You might notice that I don’t run any ramp in this deck, be assured that I tried the ramp approach but it just doesn’t work in this aggro heavy meta right now. The 6 ramp cards (Tree Minders and Hist Groves) just end up as dead draw in 9 out of 10 games and are not worth playing in my opinion! If the meta slows down you can definitely add them again though.
The gameplan is pretty simple, try to mulligan for Rapid Shot and 2 or 3 drops to build early board control and make it your goal to clear everything your opponent plays. Right now you will most likely run into a lot of aggro decks like Action Assassin, Archer, Token Spellsword, Aggro Mage, etc. In this matchups it’s very important to quickly clear threats like Slaughterfish Spawning with Sharpshooters and Skavens, even if that means that you don’t have some of them for your Doomcrag combo!
I run a fair amount of early game creatures like Fharun Defenders, Wind Keep Spellswords and Young Mammoths to deal with aggressive decks and it works well so far. You also have 6 silences which help a lot against things like Werebats, Hexmages, Quin Raw’r Burglars, etc. and creatures that get played into the shadow lane which need to be cleared immediately because they represent lethal for example. As soon as you reach turn 6 to 7 and you managed to stay alive this deck will be able to utterly destroy your opponent with large threats like Nahagliiv, Night Shadows and Blood Magic Lord’s. This lategame is definitely enough to finish games even without the Swamp Leviathan’s from Hist Groves!
That’s basically it guys, if you have any questions/suggestions feel free to comment. I promise I will reply to everyone
I hope you are having fun with this deck, I certainly do! You might catch a lot of players by surprise because Warrior is very underrated right now but maybe we can change that line of thinking soon

I run the Firebrands as single cards because you don’t need to set them up, you can play them instantly on turn 6 when you drop the Doomcrag. Furthermore in my opinion you just don’t have the room for more 3 drops when you take into account that you also use the Firebrands early to clear 1 HP threats that aggro decks like to run! For example, lets say your opponent drops Slaughterfish spawning on turn 3 and you have a Firebrand and a Mammoth in hand. You can play the Mammoth into the shadow lane and clear the other fish with your Firebrand, if you only had Raiding Party to play you would have nothing left on board after killing the fish next turn and still take the 3 damage.
I’m not saying that you can’t run Rading Party at all, I actually tried it, but it didn’t work out like I wanted it to and having something still on board is just higher value for me!
