Hi all! Firstly, sorry for my improvised English. You are warned ;)

Introduction:

I really enjoy ramp/control scout decks and it is my favourite combination of colours due to my playstyle. Green offers us the possibility of huge tempo movements, like change a big guard creature of lane, card draw and the huge utility of recover our health with Snake tooth Necklace. On the other hand, purple lets us to summon powerful creatures that will put in trouble to our opponent if he/she hasn’t got huge removals in hand.

Card guide:

The core of the deck is the same that almost ramp/control scouts, so I will write about some personal choices:

Shadow Shift: You can move a creature and draw a card, only for 1 mana. I think that it is a great tool for both abilities. Control scout hasn’t got removals like Piercing Javelin or Edict of Azura, this means that you want your creatures to be as efficient as possible: you can change guards, do favourable trades,… Drawing a card can help us when we need some cards with emergency, like a guard or Snake tooth Necklace.

Snake tooth Necklace: A great card that can become a win condition against aggressive decks, because it can change a medium size midrange minion into a tool of gaining life that avoid their strategies to finish you off as fast as possible. I run Moonlight Werebat before the nerf took place but I think this card can supply the life that they give us, plus the element of surprise that it represents. Previously, I was running Night Shadow, but it seems to be very slow and it used to be killed before attack, as well as we have enough high cost minions.

Blacksap Protector: 3 mana 3/3 with guard is decent. It comes with prophecy so it can help us in aggressive matchups. Also we have got a 3 mana minion for our mana curve.

Archein Elite: Great card, good stats and lethal ability. 5 health protect it from Lightning Bolt. Sometimes, the opponent spends powerful removals on it, and remember that this minion would be the minor of their problems when we arrive to the late game.

Lucien Lachance: I opened him from a pack recently and I am testing him now. Stats similar to Archein Elite (1 attack instead of 3), bur with an ability that rewards us from trading that is something we do during the entire matchup. It dies from execute (worst scenario), and that is the reason that I run Archein Elite instead of Archein Venomtongue.

Night Talon Lord: The “small” brother of magic Blood Magic Lord doesn’t see a lot of play due that he hasn’t got board impact in the same turn that we play it. Despite of this disadvantage, it is a good card for late game that can provide us huge life gain.

              Strategy guide against some archetypes:

The best strategy to face your opponent is knowledge. I will write some advices based on my experience playing this deck.

Archer: Keep in mind that it is an aggressive deck that you can manage to leave them out of gas. Card advantage and favourable trades will ensure you a good late game. Don’t be greedy keeping your Snake tooth Necklace for Odahviing, it would be better if you put it on a midrange minion, so the opponent has to remove it spending resources that he will not have for future creatures. If you can stop their aggressive opening, they will be easier to control every future turn.

Spellsword (token/aggresive): The strategy is almost similar to archer. Keep in mind that a turn 6 Golden Saint would be a mess if you are in a bad position when it comes. After the nerf to Divine Fervor, they are a bit slower.

Spellsword (control): Maybe one of the decks that can be a pain for us. Most of their cards are reactive to our creatures (Piercing Javelin, Edict of Azura, Mantikora). We have to try to make them spend their removals in a non-efficient way (ej. A 5/5 Shadowfen Priest with drain). This deck can kill our late game creature, but we have got a secret weapon, our ramp ability. Hist Grove is a card that summons us two huge threats so we can generate more powerful minions than removal cards they can use.

*Don’t be greedy using your Hist Grove at the beginning of the matchup, spellsword use to have three copies of Shadowfen Priest and Edict of Azura so these cards can destroy an important win condition.

Assassin: They trust in their amount of direct damage cards like Lightning Bolt or charge minions like Cliff Racer. Keep in mind that you are facing a deck with a lot of reach, so you have to establish a strong board control. Don’t forget the power of a Lillandril Hexmage, so try to put your opponent into top deck mode, so you can calculate how much damage they can do (more or less). It doesn’t matter how much damage they have if you use your necklace in a smart way, resulting in gain too much life for them to take off.

              See also  Deck List

*Don’t be greedy trying to hit face if you have low health, they will probably draw the damage they need to finish you off. Nothing makes happier an Assassin than an opponent that is cycling their own deck.

              Main sources:

I made this deck after playing a lot of control scout since the game is in open beta. The main concept comes from justinlarson, who created a scout deck some month ago and let me know how to play it properly. I recommend following him on Youtube for those people who enjoy seeing a lot of The Elder Scrolls Legends related content. On the other hand, you can find another deck very similar to this one, made by Furo, another youtuber and great player. I had got almost the same cards but with some personal choices. In addition, I have my own experience and personal choices because I love the mechanic of some cards.

Be free to comment your experience with the deck, so we can improve it and help other players. If you want more tips or any question ask me!

I hope you enjoy the list, good luck and see you on the ladder! ;)
