I was fooling around with an almost identical deck a week or so ago, and wasn’t able to get combo consistent enough, and it felt like my only win condition.

What in-hand setup should I look for so I’m not scrambling and running turn timer out?

With new combo, you either need to ramp enough to help you set up combo, get the +3 via Distiller, or get really creative. The math is much harder with the new one.

The most common combo from hand (at least yesterday) is Nix-ox, Divayth, Uprising, Pathmage. 11 mana. and a way to dump 4 mana to set your magicka back to 15.

You need to be thinking about combo before the turn you go off. Combo just means setting yourself to 15 magicka with pathmage and two nix-ox on board or 15+ magicka and laaneth in hand.

I didn’t have Distiller in my version, had Ancano and 2 dark rebirths. I’ll try with distiller, so I have more math options. Thanks for the help.

You wrecked me with Hlaalu, but I did have a slow hand and had greedy mulligan. Distiller is super good against aggro, either slowing down development or allowing you to play your hand.

I got sick of getting beat up by Hlaalu, so I’ve gone to the dark side. I couldn’t stop drawing firebrands and Orc Captains that game.
