First of all i would like to thank Tvp9 for the original decklist of this fine arechetype. (At least that is what i based my deck on).

Many cards are the same, but there are some important differences as well.

Secondly i just made Legend with 59 wins. Record over the last 30 games is 27-3.

Here are the changes and the reasoning.

First of the use of Ungolim the Listener is not to be underestimated. The deck has only 2 other 1 drops, and against some decks when you start, you can quickly get behind because you have nothing to do on that first turn, negating the fact that you started. Though it is a small chance, it does help. Its ability, once you draw one or two of the Assassins it is quite the bonus. I am reluctant to play the Sharpshooter Scout on turn 1, voiding its value of 1 damage.

I went for the 3rd Finish off, with 14 chances to do 1 damage/ give -1/-1 not to mention any creature damage that might need Finishing off, i went for the full set.

I chose to play 1 crushing blow, its removal, but also can be dealt to the face, giving the deck 1 more option to close out a neck on neck game.

The main change to this deck is the omission of the Murkwater shaman, which i do not have and the 3/3 body on a 4drop did not convince me enough to want to craft them. I went with the great stats Green Pact Stalker, which basically always comes out as a 5/6 guard for 4 magicka.

I play 1 Belligerent Giant, basically because i had it and i did not have the 2nd Falinesti Reaver. It helps taking away an undamaged guard creature, when u need to deal the final damage, or slow the development of the opponent. Not neglect-able is the ability to destroy nasty Supports, such as Divine Fervor, Dark Ritual and Goldbrand.

I took out a Sharpshooter Scout and a Varanis Courier since they seemed the least impactful to me.

Lastly i took out the Deshaan Avenger, which i found a bit slow. I realize its a total of 6/6, but silence gets used more and more, which would make it a bare 3/3 for 4 (the Green Pact Stalker trumps that being a 3/4 still when silenced)
I hope this deck will also be an inspiration for others to play a similar deck, as it performs very well and is great fun to play.

This deck is constantly evolving, so i update the list and try to explain why i changed. If you are interested check back from time to time.

I am currently experimenting with Moonlight Werebat, Vicous Dreugh, Territorial Viper and Grathwood Ambusher as one offs, instead of 1 Green Pact Stalker, 1 Varanis Courier, 1 Skaven Pyromancer and 1 Earthbone Spinner. If i like any i will change the list permanently.

That was my 2 cents on this awesome game. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as i do, I have been having an absolute blast.

This is by far the best deck in the game. Just went from legend 200 to legend 19 on a 40 win streak. I am not even sure how big it was. The list was so long it went off the full view page o_o.

Finally lost to a player playing a strange deck : o.

I am not sure that 2 reavers is a good idea. 1 reaver was something I thought was right for awhile.

Belligerent Giant is a very good play. It can push away agro decks, support decks, and so on. It’s an excellent card. I have been wanting to put it into a deck and it works wonders in this deck : ).

Murkwater Shaman is good, but I think that Green Pact Stalker is a better choice. It makes the deck more aggressive and you will always get value out of it. I have found Green Pact Stalker to be much easier to put down than Murkwater.

I had also been contemplating doing 1-2 Sharpshooter Scouts instead of 3.

Burn and Pillage is a wonderful addition. WIth the Green Pact Stalker, this pushes a lot more damage. In cases where the board is lost, this card can even the playing field again.

More people need to see this deck because it is incredible : D.

thanks for taking the time to post your experience with the deck and the cards in it.

I am happy to see Green Pact Stalker, Belligerent Giant and Burn and Pillage have been working out for you. I love em!!!

I’m not really critiquing you’re deck, I’m just writing my thoughts about it along with a question. : )

I was initially skeptical of crafting Murkwater Witch unless I wanted to do a full on goblin deck because of the 1 damage for a 2 drop, but I’ve realized how strong the -1 -1 is, it basically pays for itself along with the trade of having guard.

Question, does the -1 -1 just take away ward, or does it take away ward AND do -1 damage in order to set up a Finish Off combo or just a plain creature trade?

Thieves Guild Recruit is a good draw but for 2 mana I feel he should have either 1 more attack or one more defense. That and the fact that you reduce the cost of the next card by 2 if its 7 or more mana means you only really get any value out of the card if you don’t play it on curve so its pretty situational.

It’s kinda like some other guy said about Soulwrest Marshall, its a good card but its body stats are weak for its price and you only get the status benefit if you have more life. Last night I needed my Savage Ogre to buff a creature to win me the game and even though I had the six mana to play it I played Marshall for the free 4 4 body to put in the shadow lane without realizing I didn’t have enough life to play the Savage Ogre, which lost me the game. Dumb mistake on my part but an example of little things that build up over time.

That being said double or triple Marshall into Jarl is pretty much a win condition.

House Kinsmen maybe the most valuable creature in Green or even the game. Even stats and you get 3 free damage and life on trade, only problem is he can be silenced so its usually better to just trade immediately like with Brutal Ashlander.

I’m skeptical about adding Pyromancer since he damages your creatures too but it is a cheaper Grantwood Ambusher which can combo into Falinesti Reaver, Greens only full lane removal other then Nest of Vipers. Considering Chaurus Reaper since it has a stronger body, even though the mana cost is high for the fact you can play it on curve into Reaver.

Earthbone Spinner has a weak body, but Silence is amazing right now.

Lastly Blood Dragon might be the most versatile Legendary in the game at the moment due to ignoring Guard and attacking in any lane.

thanks for taking the time to post your opinions and questions.

The murkwater witch will not take away a ward if the creature lives after giving it -1/-1.

Thieves guild recruit draws a card and is a creature that will mostly just damage another creature, not kill it. But because of cards like Green Pact stalker, Finish Off and Leaflurker/Falinesti Reaver, that is exactly what you want it to do. If you ever happen to draw a 7+drop of it, that is a bonus.

House kinsman is great indeed, it helps getting ahead on health for Marshal and Jarl if needed, + it has a decent body for its cost. All in all a must play in most if not all green decks.

The Pyromancer is there to hold of agro/token decks. Sure at times it damage your side of the board, but you can account for that. This deck is basically about controlling 1 lane, preferably the shadow lane. It does a great job at it. Pyromancer often gets dropped on the other lane, to stall.

Silence is a must have ability in a deck in my opinion, especialy if you do not have hard removal, i am looking at you piercing javelin. Can get rid of a taunt, nasty Last Graps triggers, or Wards.

Yes, Marshall into Jarl wins games, it also loses you games when you are stuck with them in your hand and behind on health. Thats why i cut both to 2.

Blood Dragon is indeed a bomb. If i ever get a 3rd he will probably make the cut.

Enjoy and good luck with your own take on archer decks.

Thanks dude, I’m particularly happy with Earthbone Spinner totally countering Evermore Steward.

Hi.

Just like to say thank you for this deck. it made me reach legend for the 1st time today!! be cool if you checked out my deck sometime. i just made some small changes though.

First off, thanks for using the deck, i am glad it helped you reach your goal.

i saw the changes you made, the shaman is reasonable as a one of i guess. and the courier up to 3, instead of a 3rd stalker and a crushing blow. the courier only stalls the opponent in that he cant attack you or a certain other creature u have, but it also stalls urself in that u spent 3 magicka and get a card. which next turn u also need to spend magicka on. Therefor i think it isnt a 3-off in a deck. I rather have the option to kill something sometimes with the crushing blow. I have taken out the 3rd stalker myself to toy around with other cards, so the shaman is definitely something i still have to try than.

I know it probably doesn’t fit with your deck, but what do you think about Markarth Bannerman? It doesn’t seem to get much love and I only see it used in more agressive decks, but getting free firebrands every turns feels so strong it almost demands instant removal.

Just wanted to know if you use it and how it has worked for you, since you seem to fine tune your decks very well, maybe there’s some good synergy I haven’t exploited yet and I love using that card.

Apart from games where you open with a Murkwater Savage that doesnt get answered, you are mostly playing a reactive game with this deck. That means that the cards that you play must impact (the board) immediately. With the exception of Blood Dragon (which is just to good of a body) and Quinrawl Burglar all cards at cost 5 or higher have that impact. To make up for the below average stats for its cost you and it would have to survive at least one turn. I do think that if it does the Firebrands combo well with for example a Falinesti Reaver, but for my personal taste it doesnt fit the deck entirely.

My suggestion is that if you would like to try it, to replace the Burglar with it and see how it works. I am cutting the Burglar myself soon as well, but i havent had much time to play lately.

Would you change anything now that savage and soulrest have been nerfed?

i am not sure about Murkwater Savage yet, but Soulrest Marshall is still powerful enough that i will play the 2 i have in the list currently.

Murkwater savage could be replaced with Daring Cutpurse perhaps. I will test it out.
On the whole i already did not think Red/Green is the strongest deck out there, so i have been gathering souls to make another deck soon. Now that 2 of its cards got nerfed, I am reluctant to put much work into the deck for now.
