Brynjolf’s Heist
Alduin’s Apocalypse
Aela’s Companions
Ancano’s Cunning

• Replace the weakest cards, adding more rares and a handful of epics to improve the deck.
• Keep the flavor of the original pre-constructed deck as much as possible.
• Does NOT include cards from Fall of the Dark Brotherhood.
• Focus deck synergies around the included legendary.
• Max Cost: 1600 incremental Soul Gems
Top-Tier Upgrades
Brynjolf’s Heist
Alduin’s Apocalypse
Aela’s Companions
Ancano’s Cunning
Paarthurnax’s Roar – In Progress
These decks closely resemble many of the top-tier decks in the meta. They should allow most players to reach Rank 1 or even legend with practice.
• Replace additional cards, including more epics and a handful of legendaries to improve the deck.
• Develop tighter synergies between the cards, even if this means losing some of the flavor of the original deck.
• May include cards from Fall of the Dark Brotherhood.
• Includes the original legendary, but it might not be the strongest card in the deck.
• Max Cost: 3200 incremental Soul Gems

Ancano’s Cunning (Mid-Tier Upgrade)
Comments on Original Deck
The original deck uses some components of the “Blink” strategy, where you play creatures with strong Summon effects and then use other cards to resummon that creature to gain additional effects. It mixes in some Action/Spell synergy, but not enough to make it consistent. Blink decks are usually Control because they play the value game instead of a tempo game. Due to cost considerations we will try to make this a Midrange deck that focuses more on Prophecies.
Summary of Changes vs. Original Deck
• Replaced 16 cards
• Increased Prophecies from 14 to 18
• Incremental Cost: *1450 Soul Gems (assuming some free cards – see note below)
Card Replacements
-2 Calm
-2 A Night to Remember
+3 Crown Quartermaster (*Free)
+1 Bruma Profiteer (*Free)
Calm is primarily used in Control decks with Spiteful Dremora, which has a similar effect as the Curse + Leaflurker combo, but we want more tempo out of our mid-game cards. Crown Quartermaster puts a creature on the board early and gives a +1/+0 weapon that allows our weaker 2-cost creatures to trade up if necessary.
-2 Execute
+1 Shrieking Harpy (*Free)
+1 Wardcrafter (100 Soul Gems)
Execute is a great card in Control decks, but we need to have the third copy of both Shrieking Harpy and Wardcrafter – both are staples in almost all Blue decks
-2 Crystal Tower Crafter
-1 High Rock Summoner
+3 Camlorn Sentinel (150 Soul Gems)
Crystal Tower Crafter really only is worth playing in an Action-centric deck. High Rock Summoner provides great value, especially if you get a second summon effect, but that value only plays a role in longer games and we need more tempo for this slot. Camlorn Sentinel has great stats and has Prophecy.
-2 Grisly Gourmet
-1 Mage’s Trick
+3 Hive Defender (*Free)
Hive Defender is one of the best cards in the game and all Yellow decks should run 3 copies.
-2 Insightful Scholar
+2 Cloudrest Illusionist (800 Soul Gems)
Cloudrest Illusionist is a safe card to craft since it fits into almost all Yellow decks. The Summon ability allows the creatures you have on board to trade favorably with your opponent’s creatures, sometimes not even taking damage at all.
-1 Praetorian Commander
+1 IceStorm (400 Soul Gems)
Ice Storm is a great tool against both Aggro and Token decks. Praetorian Commander was a much stronger card when it was originally released as part of this pre-constructed deck, but it is a weak card now.
-1 Mage’s Guild Retreat
+1 Expert Atromancer or Supreme Atromancer (*Free)
Expert/Supreme Atromancer provides a perfect target for the Blink effects.
* Note: Cards assumed to be Free
2x Crown Quartermaster – provided by completing the Story Mode Chapter 20
1x Shrieking Harpy – Story Mode Chapter 13
3x Hive Defender – Story Mode Chapter 7 (Third copy if you upgraded Hive Worker to Hive Defender)
1x Expert Atromancer – Story Mode Chapter 20 (Upgrades to Supreme Atromancer at Level 40)
