Chapter 4: Bandit Ambush[edit]

Bandit Ambush is the fourth chapter of Legends, and the fourth battle of Act 1. You and Tyr are waylaid by bandits while on the way to meet Tyr’s friend Laaneth.

This match introduces Mulligan, Charge, and Lethal.

This is the first story match where you can choose your own deck to defeat the opponent. An unmodified Band of Survivors should be good enough to get through the first acts of the story, but any other deck can suffice. When you begin the match, you get the following introduction: “In this match you use the Mulligan redraw mechanic, and learn about the Charge and Lethal keywords. At the start of every match you can view the top three cards of your deck and decide to keep or redraw certain cards.” This is also the first time that the turn order (including the Ring of Magicka) is chosen at random. When the Bandits will play Guild Recruit, you will be told about the Lethal keyword: “Lethal creatures kill any creature they deal damage to.” Similarly, when the Bandits play a Greenheart Knight, the Charge keyword will be explained: “Charge creatures can attack immediately.” You can now continue to play the game as normal.

Dialogue[edit]

Pre-Match

Kellen: “The Dremora‘s words unnerved the hero. They journeyed north to meet Laaneth, a sorceress friend of Tyr’s well versed in Daedric matters. But the road ahead was far from clear.”
Bandit: “Look what we have here. Standard fee. Hand over your coin or you die.”
Bandit: “This is our road. Nobody passes here without paying a tribute.”
Tyr: “We haven’t got any money. As for taking our lives…”

Post-Match

Kellen: “The last bandit, seeing his fallen companions, dropped to his knees.”
Kellen: “He said that if the hero spared his life, he would show them where the robbers had hidden their ill-gotten treasure. But the merchant demanded justice.”
Isha: “And what did your hero do?”
If the player chooses “Spare” and the Steel Scimitar card:
Kellen: “Mercy can be a profitable virtue.”
If the player chooses “Execute” and the Execute card:
Kellen: “The bandit’s villainous career ended there.”
