Hi all,

I’ve gotten three MURKWATER SKIRMISHER in packs and as an avid MtGoblin-deck player I’m thinking maybe it’s a sign to make a TESL goblin deck as well. I see they’re not highly regarded here (i.e. very few up-votes for goblin decks on this site) so I’m curious what others thoughts are? i.e. are cards such as MURKWATER SHAMAN (I have zero in my collection) good enough to spend shards on? I’m FTP, so I try to be careful with my shard-spending.

Thanks in advance.

Goblins are an amazing tribe, great value in cards like murkwater shaman and witch, Also green is so good that it offers pretty much everything you can want in terms of supporting goblin strategy.

Thing is I’m not sure they are better than no tribe at all and just playing the best goblins with the best everything else, but they are definitely viable.

I haven’t crafted Shamans yet (sounds like you rec crafting them?) but I’ve been playing Justin Larson’s ‘Yellow-Bellied Goblins’ deck and I’m undefeated so far. Funny, on his YT vid he calls it “a bad deck” – but so far it’s anything but that for me.

If you wantr to have fun: sure, craft them!
Otherwise only Murkwater Witch and Goblin Skulk are used in competitive play…

Why is it that Shamans aren’t used in competitive play?

I think it was reasonably used during closed beta and during the first weeks of open beta, but in the end it seems that both Daeshan Avenger and Moonlight Werebat have definitely taken that slot. I still like the Shaman a lot for Arena, but the other two cards are a bit more reliable for constructed play.

I note that you had it on your Epic Tier List as a craftable card – would you still say it is?

And Werebat’s getting nerfed, so maybe there’s a chance for MS to come back now?

they arent fast enough in the format. You have to wait until after your opponent can respond to get their value, which is just a -1/1. That being said, in a goblin deck they can see play because they are goblins and can be buffed.

My goblin deck is doing very well right now at rank 7. Its assassin and plays more like a combo deck where you control until you get your skulk and buff and then try to hit for large damage,
