Chapter 9: Broadsides[edit]

Broadsides is the ninth chapter of The Forgotten Hero campaign, and the first battle of Act II. While heading to Cyrodiil, your ship is attacked by pirates. The match features two windy lanes, which will move random creatures to the other lane at the end of your opponent’s turn. The Pirates start the match with a Niben Bay Cutthroat in the left lane.

Strategy[edit]

Your opponent has many low cost and high attack creatures in its deck which results in a very aggressive play style. Adding Prophecy cards and cheap actions that can destroy low health creatures (like Firebolt) helps to remove the pressure from your opponent’s attacks. Additionally, playing a small creature in the same lane as the Niben Bay Cutthroat on turn one will reduce most of the early damage.

As the game features two Windy lanes, it can be useful to add cards like Dune Smuggler and Caravan Enforcer that benefit from moving, although they are not necessary to win this game. When you manage to control the board, there is little the opponent can do to turn the game around again.

Dialogue[edit]

Pre-match

Swims-at-Night: “Ah, I love a good storm! Makes the seafaring life interesting!”
Tyr: “How about pirates?”
Swims-at-Night: “No, they’re right bastards. Treat an honest smuggler like a common merchant! (Sigh) There’s no honor among scoundrels.”

Game Hint

“A pirate ship is moving back and forth on the sea.”
“You spot a pirate on the bow.”

During the Match

Swims-at-Night: “I stole this cargo fair and square. Let’s send these dishonorable thieves into the brine.”
Pirates: “Look alive men, or this storm will toss you about!”
